Caleb at 6 months!

Well this post is a little late but better late than never right?? Here are Caleb's 6 months stats and firsts

height: 27 1/2 INCHES (92%)

weight: 18 LBS (62%)

first time eating baby food (he doesn't like it!)

first hair cut (They cut off 2 inches and he looked so cute however it was totally not planned and i didn't have the camera with me so I don't have any pictures)

starting to roll over he didn't start to roll over all the way until the end of the month now I can't keep him in one place!

first kinda words: dada

Finally sleeping through the night

loves to laugh at sister

loves to listen to her read stories and sing songs

wants to follow her so bad

loves to play with sisters toys no matter what it is

Caleb also started physical therapy this month. He was a little behind on his gross motor skills so he goes to therapy once a week and it is amazing how much 4 visits have helped. He wasn't even moving much or sitting up and now he is almost sitting by himself, rolling all over the place, and even starting to stand on his feet flat. Speaking of feet they are getting much better. They found that he was really tight on his left side they call it tortacollis. So now that we know that we are able to finally get it better and he is making so many improvements!

we have been noticing that Caleb is getting taller and taller. I think that it is funny that Madi only has a tibia on him at 6 months! I guess dad doesn't have to worry about having a short boy!

6 months!

This is his therapy (really it is) I don't normally put my kids in laundry baskets but we are trying to get caleb to sit up straight instead of falling to one side or another. He seems to really like it so far.

This is the first time Bailee has payed any attention to Caleb since we brought him hom. We ended this with a lick on the face and a big smile from Caleb.

I LOVE this time of year!!

Canning!!!

I love the end of summer for this reason! We have a great little farmers market that has some of the best produce at very very reasonable prices. I didn't get to do nearly as much canning as I would have like mostly because I am still learning the ins and outs and I don't have all the right equipment or the money to buy it all at once. So for this year we started small. We ended up with 10 jars of dill pickles and 10 jars of sweet and sour pickles, 8 jars of salsa, 64 jars of tomato sauce and 60 jars of diced tomatoes. I also have 8lbs of frozen sweet corn, 18 cups of diced bell peppers and I can't even tell you how many apple products. (we have a friend who invited us to pick apples with them this year and we have so many apples that we are going to have fun experimenting with different apple products this year!

A big thanks to my mother in law for lending me her strainer it was a HUGE help! Madi enjoyed helping to make the tato sauce!

Lakeside

Grandma and Grandpa Haynie introduced us to Lakeside amusment park this summer! We had such a fun time, it will definently be a place that we visit again. For those not familier with Denver Lakeside is a really really old amusement park that from the outside looks like it should be shut down, it has been around forever and unfortunently hasn't really been kept up to well so it's falling apart but it has a great kiddy area where there are about 20 rides just for younger kids! (adults don't have to ride) Madi and her cousins had a blast. Little Caleb was a bit to young but he enjoyed all the sights and sounds of an amusement park!

They like the ferris wheel now but on the first time it went around to the top they both had looks of sheer terror on their faces

And yes as you can see all the rides did the exact same thing (went round and round) this is why I was SO glad that parents did not need to ride along!

Mommy we took a shower....as the girls come in soaking wet! They had fun playing in the sprinklers and yes they did end up getting a bath after that!

Summer in a post!

Summer has come and gone and I have no clue where all our time was spent! We were so crazy with doctors apts and just figuring out our new schedule with Caleb that I think it just flew by us. We did have a lot of fun trying new things and continuing to get the house organized and things into place (yes even after a year I am still moving stuff around)

we spent most of our hot summer days at the library. Caleb loves it when Madi reads him stories!

Sadly Ashley had to leave us in August :( We had a fun birthday party for her and she gave Madi a really sweet writing gift so they could write letters back and forth.
