First there was dirt....Soon it will be home...

So as most already know we have been house hunting for the past 6 months. It has been quite the process as we had a large area that we wanted to live in. Well that hunt has finally come to an end and here is the shortened version of the story...
We had been looking in about 6 different cities from Thornton to Aurora and Littleton trying to get closer to Joe's work. We hired a realitor who happened to be a good friend and I set out to find the perfect house. I can't even tell you how many weeks and homes we looked at and still we were coming up with nothing. I finally found 3 homes that I liked ( I won't say love but definently would work for our family) 2 in Aurora and 1 in Thornton. We took Joe to see the homes and the first one he thought was to old and the neighborhood was to old, then the second one was perfect except for the huge gaping crack in the front of the house. Then we started to look closer at it and it seemed as if the house was literally falling over! The huge crack went through the whole house. So then it was off to the one in Thornton it was a cute little house with no evidence of water damage or foundation issues. Well the only problem with this one was that there were tons of offers on it already. Well I was getting quite discouraged it seemed that all the houses we were finding either had HUGE problems or had so many offers that we would never get the house. We were also getting frustrated because our window of being able take advantage of the tax credit was quickly closing and with out that money we wouldn't be able to fix up any houses that we did decide to buy. After a lot of talking we decided to go out 1 more weekend and see what we could find and if we came up with nothing then we would go to plan B which was back to renting. So last saturday we were driving around waiting to meet with our realitor and came across some homes in Henderson that were being built by DR Horton. The sign said that they had homes in our price range, I didn't believe it at all but we went and looked anyway. To our surprise there was 1 house in our price range that was perfect for our family, we totally fell in love and decided that this is where we should be!

So This is what our house will look like! They got all the permits and will hopefully start building soon. They said that we will be able to move in by January and maybe even the end of December. I can't get the floor plan to get on here so if you want to look at drhorton.com and look in the River Oaks Freedom subdivision at the liberty plan and thats our house!
Well keep you all posted on the progress!!

9 months, Broncos, and Avalanche

Well it seems like every time I say I will be better about blogging it is another 3 months before I get back to it. ( Maybe I'll make that my new years resolution.)
Madi had a great 9 month check up. She is 20.5 lbs(78%) and 26in long (42%) so yes she is still short! She has started to crawl a bit but really loves to be standing and walk. She has been going to a little kids gym once a week and I think it is really helping her social skills as well as movement. She also FINALLY got her first tooth this past week which is great because she really has lost all interest in baby food and just wants to eat what ever we are eating. Her final accomplishment has been that she is now sleeping completely through the night! It really did only take her 3 nights of crying back to sleep for her to figure it out. ( I didn't believe that it could be that easy!!)
I am still working at the bank and things are going well. Joe's job is going great. He recently came home from his first business trip where he was helping out in another warehouse to get things organized like his here in Denver. His boss seems to be really happy with him and he is absolutely loving his job.
We took Madi to yet another Av's game. ( It will probably be one of the last for awhile) It was a fun game but also sad as Joe Sakic retired :( It was a great Cermony and fun to be apart of all the excitement!
Enjoy the pics!

goodbye toshiba…hello dell

So I have a happy sad day! I finally caved and bought a new computer. It is a sad day because I have had my toshiba laptop since I first went to school back in 2003. It has served me well for the last 6 years and it is sad to see him go.

Now a moment of silence……

On to the good news I have an awesome new computer! I can’t believe how much better and cheaper computers are now a days… Now I don’t have to worry about the computer crashing and taking all my wonderful madi pics with it!!!

So I have started this post about 6 times in the last 2 months but everytime I get it going Madi wakes up! So now I have started yet again at bed time instead of nap time in hopes that it might get done! ( so far we have had only 2 wake ups)
It seems like so much time has past that I don't even know where to begin. Madi had a great half birthday! We started the day with a trip to the doc. she got 3 more shots and had a great bill of health. She was 17% for height and 71% for weight!!
She seems to be learning and growing so fast. Right now her favorite is sitting up leaning forward and 'army crawling' just a bit then rolling over and squeling waiting for someone to pick her up. She also final graduated out of the newborn shoes so I can buy her real ones now. She loves her tennis shoes because they allow her to get more support when she stands. Yes she can now stand supported and is starting to pull herslef up on stuff. At this rate I think she will walk well before she can crawl. She also loves swimming and playing with the dog. (They have become quit good friends) She is also a great eater as you can tell by the stats. She also has found quite her voice and loves to "read" her books (you can tell how we read to her because she will make her voice loud and soft during different parts. She also has found a new love for the piano, we have to play piano music for her to sleep and she loves the fact that grandma angee's piano plays all by its self.

We have had a couple of good trips and visitors over the past few weeks, Madi was able to meet all her great aunts, uncles, and cousins over the 4th of July in Utah, her great uncle from England as well as her great grandpa tony and great grandma donna (Tiffany's dad's father and step-mom.) We also took our first camping trip. We were able to spend a few days in Estes Park. Madi is a GREAT camper, I think she slept better in the sleeping bag in the tent then she ever has at home. We had a lot of fun and since we had such a great time are looking at getting a few more trips in before the summer is over. We also have had a great time going to the Zoo, I didn't know how well she would like it but she loves the animals. The monkeys and elephants are her favorites.
I have a ton of pics and sorry that they aren't in here so fancy, I am horrible at this blogging stuff and am lucky to be getting it up at all!! Hopefully soon I will get better though as I am getting a new photo software sometime this week :-D

On a sad note we have to pay a small tribute to the little america dino :-(
If anyone has ever driven I-80 to Utah Little America is a staple truck stop. Forever you could get a 25 cent ice cream cone and there was always the big green sinclar dinosaur out front. Joe and I both have family pics on the dino and we even made the stop on our first road trip as a couple. We thought it would be fun to get another family pic this year. Sadly as we stopped we learned that someone had stolen the dino, yes stolen it!!!! so sadly madi doesn't get her pic :-( but we did find another guy to take a pic. with, he's not the same but I guess he will have to do.
As always I hope all is well and enjoy the cute baby!

time flies when your having fun...

4 MONTH PICTUES

NIGHT TIME (SHE WON'T GO TO BED WITH OUT THE MONKEY)

HAPPY BABYTHIS ONE IS FOR UNCLE SCOTT

OUR FIRST LOOK AT FOOD...SWEET POTATOES YUM!!

CHUNKY MONKEY
Well the last month has brought a TON of changes for our family.
Madi is getting so big. She is now 5 months old and is growing like a weed. At her last appoinment she was 22in long and 14 lbs 6 oz. I think she is a monster but the doc. said that she was in the 22% for height and 54% for weight so basically she apparently got my genes. She also now has both of her top vanpire teeth trying to poke through. We are feeding her baby food now with her favorites being bananas, carrots, and sweet potatoes. She also has become quite the talker and insists on feeding herself the bottle.
Joe got a new job which when he took it we didn't know that it would be such a blessing. He now works as the OSC specialists for Smith and Nephew. They are an orthopedic company and he manages the warehouse and all the shipping and receiving. Shortly after he took the job he found out that his old company had been sold and closed. What a relief it is knowing that we still have work instead of having to go through all that jobless stuff. Not only is the job a much better fit for him but is also is more money and less hours. Joe is really enjoying it and things couldn't be better.

As our lease was coming to an end we started yet again trying to find a house or townhouse to rent ( i just can't to another apartment with a dog and baby) in looking we realized that with a few short months of saving we could buy a house for the same price as renting. Yes BUY NOT RENT!! So we have starting the long process of buying a home. Lucky for us my parents were willing to let us stay with them until we find the house of our dreams. It has worked out well so far. We finally got the tv and internet working so Joe is happy with his sports and I can again update our blog more frequently.

Thats all for now enjoy the pictures!

But don't worry when I get it figured out I will post them all (blessing, ducks, smiles, 3 months) Other then that she is getting so big and is smiling and so happy. And yes she is now getting a tooth!! I will post more later.
