Water fun!

It has been so hot lately that we chose to spend an afternoon outside playing in the cold water. Caleb didn't really like the water but he enjoyed just sitting in the shade. Madi has loved water from day one and took advantage of mom letting her play in her swimsuit all day! Thanks to grandma haynie for caleb's super cute suit!!

Our little garden

The key word is little this year... after several months of not knowing what type of garden we wanted joe and I spent to much time planning and not enough time planting. So needless to say we ended up with a pot of peppers, a pot of herbs, and 3 pots of tomatoes. So far we have gotten some great basil, cilanto, and parsley. 2 peppers and a whole ton of green tomatoes were just waiting for them to turn red.

Happy birthday to Madi...???

So after a few days of my usually peppy daughter being very sad and blue I finally figured out what was going on... the conversation went something like this:

why do you need that?

because you forgot my birthday and so I need them

you birthday is in december no one forgot it...

yes you did

madi look (looking at a calander) this is today and all the way over here is your birthday...

no emy and tanner and papa and grandma nona and grandma hazel and tant jane and shyler had birthdays and now its my turn.... I just want to make a wish and blow candles and eat cake....

ok fine we can make a birthday...

And so we made a birthday night after that she was back to her normal self and she had so much fun! I just felt so bad that she really did believe we had forgotten her birthday!

After this she started telling everyone she had a birthday and she was now 5.....

Caleb 3 months old!

Yes I know this post is a little old since Caleb is almost 4 months now but here are a few highlights!

He is getting better at holding his head up at tummy time

enjoys sitting upright in the bumbo or highchair at meal time

has started to "talk" a lot (he has gotten quite noisy)

smiles all the time and we've even gotten a few giggles

still isn't much of a day or night time sleeper

enjoys watching or playing with his sister

I don't know his stats but I know he has gotten quite a bit bigger as we are now in 3-6mo cloths

had his first bout with hand, foot, and mouth disease or chicken poxs who knows... but they both had something!

still has his foot brace but he only has to wear it for 6 hrs a day and the doc. says that his foot is definently getting better!

lastly he is totally his big sisters buddy, she has nicknamed him that and will only call him buddy or her buddy, its sweet for now!

Bath Time!

I have started giving both caleb and madi baths at the same time. It saves me a lot of hassle and saves water right??! This was the first time he was in the real bath, he has since gotten used to the idea and likes watching his sister splash and play.

I have been a total slacker but as of now my kids have been negleted for the morning and the blog is finally updated since Caleb was born. There are about 12 or 13 posts all with pictures and videos so just keep the older post button so that you can see it all! I promise it is all worth it!!!
