My Christmas Present

We got a very unexpected christmas present this year! Santa decided that instead of bringing games and toys he would bring a baby to us for Christmas this year!!


Thats right our little girl was born December 23rd at 6:38PM (hence the reason why it is taking me so long to get this post up, i've been a little busy)

So here is the little story. After a week of high blood pressure for me, my doctor decided that it was better to have the baby sooner rather than later. He scheduled the induction for the morning of December 23rd (about 4 weeks before my due date). We went to the hospital at 5:30 in the morning and to make a really long story (and day) short, by 5:30pm he decided that my pelvis was to small and that after all the pushing and labor there was no way she would be born naturally and so I had a C-section and she was out 20 min. later kicking and screaming and looking like she had been in a fight.

The sad part was that I was originally told by my doc that we would be home by Christmas morning but after the c-section is was obvious that we would not be home for Christmas. I guess if your gonna spent Christmas in the hospital a baby is the best reason why. We had lots of great friends and family stop by to see us (and by us I mean the baby :) so it wasn't to bad. When I look back now she came at the perfect time because it really is the only time both my sisters would have gotten to see her as they wern't going to be able to make the trip out in January. And between holidays and vacation days Joe was able to spend 2 weeks off work (which was a huge help) instead of just a few days. Also she was so big already and I was SOOOOOOOO miserable with all the swelling that I honsetly can't imagine going a few more weeks!!! I guess it all happens for one reason or another!

We are now home and just working on getting into the routine of being parents. Our first week was spent going back and forth to doctors with my blood pressure and Madi's jaundice but now things are good for both of us and hopefully this week goes better.

Almost everyone already knows her first name Madison, the middle name wasn't decided until she was born. Joe picked Natalee because in Portuguese Natal means Christmas and she was born near Christmas so you put it all together and you get Natalee.

Just a little update

So it's been awhile since I last wrote. Things are going well its just been really busy with work and life. Joe is doing well in his job and finally has a place in the program to call home instead of jumping from office to office so he is happy.

The baby is also doing well. We had another ultrasound a few weeks ago and confirmed that we are definently having a girl and like we had hoped the placenta moved enough that I don't have to have a c-section unless something goes wrong!! I was very happy about that. I feel like I am huge now although the doc still says that me and the baby are measuring small. Other then that I do have some fun new belly pictures but I have to wait for a new power cord to come so that I can download them. so they will come as soon as ups brings the cord :-D.

Joe and I have are the opportunity to go to several Avalanche games and Joe and been able to go to a few Broncos games this year thanks to his dad we have had GREAT seats.

Joe's brother also had their baby at the begining of October and she is adorable!! We are excited that the girls will be so close in age!!

More then what I bargained for...

As you can clearly see, pregnancy goes with Tiffany about as well as oil and water. Somewhere during this whole pregnancy process someone forgot to tell me about all of the changes that accompanies that little bundle of joy. Lately, cuddling with Tiffany has been like snuggling up with the Marlboro man. I don't dare let her use my razors anymore lest they lose their edge after a few swipes.

As we've previously announced, we are expecting a little girl. And, to set things straight, I am thoroughly excited because now I get to look forward to scaring off potential suitors and boyfriends. I can't wait for prom night. As she's about to leave the house with her date, I'm going to remind her to pack her mace. It's going to be fun!

Joe is really excited to be having a girl as am I but here are the real belly pics. at 21 weeks. (before this point I really haven't been showing at all so these are the first belly pics.)

The results are in...

We had our second photo shoot today and it is official we are having a little girl!! We are both really excited.

So far the baby is doing great all of her measurements are good and she is growing fast. Here are some more pictures and the stats of the day.

So after everyone has seen the first ultrasound, everyone has a different idea on whether we are having a boy or girl....

So far we have

2 votes for a girl and 2 votes for a boy.....

Anyone else want to guess???

The First photo shoot!!

So I am about 17 weeks along now and we had the opportunity to take a peek at our little one. To me the ultrasound looked more like I am carrying a dinosaur rather than an baby but it was really cool to see it move and it waved at us as well. :-D Unfortuntely our baby is a little shy and we were unable to tell the sex but that will come at the begining of September.

We are all doing well here. My sisters both get married this weeked so the week has been crazy but other then that work is keeping us both busy.

A quick update

So here is a quick update on what has been going on. I will add more and some pictures a little later.

Joe is doing well with his new job and he is enjoying it, we are finally getting settled in our new place. It is so nice compared to what we came from!!.

I also started a new job about 2 weeks ago at Chase bank. I am working as a full time teller, and so far although very different the job it a lot of fun and I am enjoying the set hours and set schedule.

I am also starting to look pregnant ( well at least I think so, for those that don't know me I may just look a little chubby) so that is getting exciting. At our last doctors appoitment (about 3 weeks ago) I was able to hear the baby's heart beat (about 160 bpm) which was exciting because now we know that there is something in there.

Other than that we are keeping busy with family and getting ready for my sister's weddings which are in about 2 weeks.
